The tapestry panels, made by 4,000 men and women from 15 countries between 1981 and 1996 demonstrate the Quaker influence on the modern world and provide pictorial scenes of the industrial revolution, developments in science and medicine, astronomy, the abolition of slavery, social reform, and ecology.
