Project Manager

Methodist Asylum Project(MAP)  Middlesbrough

MAP are seeking a Project Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £34,668 per annum (subject to annual review on 1st September)

Holidays: 20 days plus public holidays

MAP is a respected charity and has welcomed and supported asylum seekers and refugees in Middlesbrough since 2002. We work in Middlesbrough and the broader Tees Valley area.  Our objective is “to reduce isolation and to meet basic needs in order to enable healthy living, meaningful activity and social opportunities for our clients”.

MAP is recruiting for a Project Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to help some of the most vulnerable, but wonderful people in our society. While more details will be provided in the application pack we are seeking a warm & welcoming person to work with a full-time assistant manager and a large number of volunteers to deliver existing services and develop new opportunities.  

Key characteristics required include:

  • Understand & have interest in the issues that face asylum seekers and refugees in the UK
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, using your own initiative to respond to changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and remain composed in stressful situations.
  • Be able to work and travel around the Middlesbrough and Redcar area (a mileage allowance or public transport costs will be paid).
  • Have experience in  
     
    • administration and financial procedures
    • recruiting/developing a team of volunteers
    • building & maintaining good working relationships within MAP & with external agencies
